Yamapi and Mao are known to be both Meiji Almuni and during one of the interviews from Asahi Direct Shot Presconference, Yamapi and Mao shared the story about their rather unusual very cute first meeting at the campus. On one random day, Mao came across Yamapi at school and considered ways on how to approach him naturally. And while in the midst of deciding, Yamapi’s legs got Mao-chan’s attention (again this is not a fanfiction ) and so she decided to  greet him through a “hizakakun or knee strike” ( doing so will knock the person off balance/scaring the heck out of them lol). As it turns out, Yamapi got so confused and flustered by what she did that there was no time for the awkwardness. Thanks to Mao’s unusual greeting ,they were able to break the ice. ^~^Above is a MaoPi simulation of their first encounter

PS: And to satisfy the  growing YaMaoPi shippers (myself included), During their shoot in Hawaii, Mao also surprised Yamapi with a birthday gift.
