I Found Home [check it in DA here]
Today I went to the cinema to see Beauty & the Beast 3D, which was released last week here in my country. I thought of doing something to upload according to it, since it’s such an important movie to me. Instead of drawing something, I took out my box of old dolls and found Belle and the Beast in it and decided to take a bunch of pictures. I liked this one in particular because, when I saw how it turned out, it looked as if Belle was feeling peaceful, which reminded me of the lines of the song Home (the reprise) “I found home/you’re my home/stay with me”.
And, thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that this movie is like a “home” to me, like a sanctuary, so to speak. Whenever I’m feeling down, stressed, when I need to feel better for some reason, watching this movie or listening to this soundtrack makes me feel like home. It has a healing power for me, and that’s what I was trying to show, somehow.
I grew up watching this movie, I owned the VHS first and the DVD later, I watched it countless times, I saw the Broadway musical, but I never EVER get tired of it. Maybe because it is a story of two outcasts that find each other, or maybe because it’s a story about growing and learning from our mistakes, maybe because it’s about a tortured soul who finds that he worths more than he believes he does, maybe because we have all felt like we’re alone sometime in our lives. It can be because of a million reasons, but the undeniable truth is that this movie is like a shelter to me and I thank everyone, especially Howard and his legacy, for creating it: thanks for creating a Home for so many people like me.
